Good Natured Products acquires Ex-Tech Plastics-Canadian Plastics Canadian Plastics, a sheet manufacturer located in Illinois

This transaction is the third acquisition of the Vancouver-based bioplastics manufacturer in more than a year.

Good Natured Products Inc., a Vancouver-based bioplastics manufacturer, is acquiring Ex-Tech Plastics Inc., a rigid plastic sheet extruder based in Richmond, Illinois, for $14.1 million.

The transaction includes all operating assets of Ex-Tech and real estate owned by ETP Inc., a related company.

Founded in 1982, Ex-Tech operates seven different extrusion lines in a 75,000 square foot dedicated facility serving the retail, food, and medical packaging industries. Its customers are mainly located in the Midwest and Southwest of the United States

"[Our] long-term relationship with Ex-Tech...can be traced back to March 2016, when we acquired Ex-Tech's bioplastics division," said Paul Antoniadis, CEO of Good Natured Products. "The combined entity makes us one of the leading commercial sheet extruders in North America, serving more than 200 thermoformed packaging companies in North America. This acquisition firmly ensures the company's market in our industrial coil market Positioning, while laying the foundation for future expansion of production and manufacturing capabilities."

This acquisition is Good Natured Products’ third acquisition in the past year: In March 2020, it acquired Shepherd Thermoforming & Packaging Inc., headquartered in Brampton, Ontario; and in December, it acquired Shepherd Thermoforming & Packaging Inc. IPF Holdings Inc, an extruded sheet manufacturer based in Ayr, Province.

Good Natured Products was established in 2006, formerly Solegear Bioplastic Technologies Inc., is a plant-based products and packaging company that designs, produces and distributes bioplastics for packaging and durable product applications. The company changed its name to Good Natured Products in 2017.
