Teknor Apex will add a new Arvitec coextrusion line to its application development laboratory in Rothenburg ob der Tauber to enhance the capabilities of its European Plastics R&D Center of Excellence.

The extrusion line has been fully debugged and commissioned, ready to support customer development projects and internal development projects of the company.

Gert Joly, European Technical Director, said: "The most advanced Arvitec extrusion equipment is another important supplement to our ability to support advanced application development projects, quality control and process optimization technologies in Europe. We are very pleased to provide laboratory-scale solutions for co-extrusion applications. Testing, which is critical to our customers’ successful product development, enables them to perfect conditions before full production launch."

Thomas Aschenbrenner, Manager of the Application Development Lab, added: "Arvitec machinery is very popular among our European customers, so this allows us to develop and solve problems on the same equipment they run products. In addition to running trials and prototypes for customers, We can use this production line to accelerate our own internal material development. We have worked with Arvitec for decades and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future to improve our laboratory capabilities."

The production line is customized for Teknor Apex and includes dual Genesis extruders, calibration tables, tractors and rotating blades, which provide clean and burr-free cutting. It is suitable for many applications. It provides the latest touch screen controls with an intuitive and easy-to-operate design. These advanced controls provide complete automation performance, with control reports and setting records, easy to repeat. 

Arvitec can also provide remote support, being able to fully monitor and control the system in real time from their location in Spain, just by connecting to the Internet.
