Field & Future, HEB's new product line

On Friday, November 12, HEB announced the launch of a new product line that strives to be more environmentally friendly, with products ranging from soaps to household cleaners. 

The official release of Field & Future coincides with U.S. Recycling Day on Monday, November 15. To commemorate this holiday, the grocery company also partnered with Keep Texas Recycling (a branch of Keep Texas Beautiful) to make it easier for the entire state to recycle Texas. 

"At HEB, we are always looking for better ways to meet the needs of Texans. Many of our partners, customers and communities are embarking on a green journey. Our goal with Field & Future by HEB is to be on this road Meet them anywhere," HEB Brand Product Director Bonny Akers said in a press statement. "With these environmentally conscious products, coupled with our continuous efforts for sustainable development, we hope to take all possible measures, big or small, to improve the well-being of our planet, our communities, and ourselves."

Field & Future, HEB's new product line

The Field & Future series includes products with hypoallergenic formulas, biodegradable ingredients and recyclable packaging. Some products in this series have been on shelves since the summer and are available in designated HEB stores. Items include dishwashing sponges made of plant-based materials and toothpaste that does not contain fluoride, sulfate, dyes and artificial flavors.

In 2020, HEB recycled more than 527 million pounds of materials, including cardboard, plastic, office paper, food waste, metal, and truck tires. The company also donated US$13 million to more than 500 environmental organizations. The announcement stated that Field & Future was created based on feedback from HEB partners and customers.
