Foster Corporation, a leader in polymer solutions for medical devices, announced an exclusive sales agreement with SK Functional Polymer (SKFP), a subsidiary of SK Global Chemical.

The Orevac 18300M tie layer bonds together two or more incompatible materials that are used in extrusion or injection molding medical components.

The agreement began on May 10, 2021, allowing Foster Corporation to exclusively provide the North American medical device market with Orevac 18300M, a connection layer based on functional engineered polyethylene (PE). Tie-layer polymers are specifically designed to bond together two or more incompatible materials used in extrusion or injection molding medical components.

Foster currently offers highly engineered materials and compounds for professional medical and life science applications.

"For many years, the Orevac brand has been a premium brand in the industrial market," said Larry Johnson, vice president of business development at Foster. "Now, Orevac 18300M will be provided as a material tool to medical original equipment manufacturers to solve the adhesion problems of difficult extrusion and injection molding, as well as more effective connection problems than existing products."
